Harrogate Montpellier Pétanque Club

The new terrain at Oatlands was officially opened on 19th June, 2022 with Harrogate hosting the annual match against Leeds for the Roy Cotton Trophy.

The weather was good, and following a series of competitive games, Leeds retained the trophy, after which the players and spectators enjoyed a barbecue and some social games.

With the larger terrain and clubhouse at Oatlands, this was the first time HMPC had been in a position to host the event.

Due to maintenance work at Oatlands, all evening sessions, including Thursday 2nd June, will be held at the Pierhead until further notice.

Evening sessions are starting up again on Thursday 2nd June from 6pm at our new terrain at Oatlands.

Also starting up again on Tuesday 7th June are the Tuesday evening sessions, from 6pm at The Pierhead.

Same times every week until further notice.

Our new facility at Oatlands will be opening soon.

Today saw the delivery of 20 tons of aggregate, which was then distributed over the site by our working party of volunteers. The Pannal Ash JFC Car Park now resembles the surface of the Moon.

With more working parties to be scheduled, this second site will be up and running in a few weeks.

A special Christmas melee was held on 10th December at The Pierhead.

There were mince pies, cakes, etc, and mulled wine to warm us up.
A great festive time was had by all.

The final melee of the season took place on 30th September.

Brenda was the Winner, and she took home a magnificent trophy and a bottle of bubbly!

Please note the final melee of the season will be at 4pm on Thursday 30th September (weather permitting). Please bring easy to eat finger food only to share. If weather not good, the melee may be moved to 7th October.

All evening sessions will now start at 4pm until further notice.

Please note that due to the more limited daylight, evening sessions through until the end of BST will start at 5pm.

With no fixtures possible last year due to the Pandemic, with the easing of restrictions, it has been possible to restart the West Yorkshire League for 2021.

Please note that for HMPC home matches at the Pierhead, all pistes are reserved until match completion (about 1pm), after which our Friday club session can go ahead.
